Following the overwhelming success of the Emerging Focus Educational series during photo l.a. 2012, we are proud to announce the all new Emerging Focus Photo Expo that will be held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium & Hilton Doubletree Hotel in conjunction with photo l.a. January 17 -21, 2013.

With the constant metamorphosis of photography, our definition of what is groundbreaking evolves. Our aim is to embody the advancements of photography. Whether the work involves invoking the brilliance of the past for new purposes or exploring new techniques, we seek photographers who are breaking the mold of tradition.

Adding to the schedule this year will be beginner, intermediate and advanced seminars on a diverse range of photography topics, such as Adobe Photoshop & LightRoom, lighting techniques, printing and finishing. In addition, panel discussions, vendor sessions from leading camera manufacturers and equipment specialists and a variety of photography business related topics, and more. Emerging Focus Expo programming will be held next door at the Hilton Doubletree Hotel over two days, with vendor installations uniquely housed in the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. A variety of ticket options, including a weekly registration, will be offered for those wishing to attend the weekend of Emerging Focus Photo Expo, including photo l.a. programming and the opening Gala fundraiser. Now in its 22nd year, photo l.a., the longest running art fair west of New York City, carries on its mandate to showcase emerging and established artists from around the globe. Galleries and private dealers exhibit vernacular, classic and contemporary work and celebrate photography’s past, present and future.
